[ MORI | Registry Department ]
What is the Registry Department?
The Grand Lodge Registry is the "big database in the sky" sort of speaking. All records of Masons alive today and yesteryear are kept on file.
Should you have questions on MORI or any other topic which you would typically use the telephone to call, feel free to use Email.

Changes in the Registry Department
Since January of 2005 the Registry Department has been using the Masonic Online Registry Interface System (a.k.a. MORI). For more information about MORI please consult the Online Guide.
With the advent of MORI it is no longer necessary to send registry forms to Grand Lodge for address changes, new members, degree dates and many other functions. This is a substantial change in past Registry Department practice. In the past it has been necessary to send a Registry Form to the Registry Department for every change in your membership. For those lodges who wish to begin using MORI you will be able to avoid these, and help maintain a more accurate record of our membership.
The Registry Department will still accept Registry Forms from those lodges who do not use MORI.
Timeliness of Information
With the advent of MORI it is possible for a lodge to see up to the second the state of any member in their lodge. It is important that information be entered into MORI, or a Registry Form sent, as soon as any event occurs that effects a member, such as degrees, change of address, dimit, NPD, or death. Maintaining accurate records is a responsibility of us all, and now with MORI is a collective effort we can all participate in.
Inter-Jurisdictinal/Foreign Affiliations
It is a requirement that all affiliations from Masons who do not belong to a lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of New York must be reviewed by the Grand Secretaries Department.
A petition for a Foreign Affiliation can be entered into MORI. If you are not on MORI Inter-jurisdictional affiliations must be directed to Richard Bateman, AGS.
Genealogy Requests
Currently genealogy requests are being handled by the Livingston Library. Please contact them for further information.
